USF The Centre Gallery The Divine Connection Between Form and Nature The Art of Jacqueline Amick

The Centre Gallery, located on the second floor of the Marshall Student Center building room 2700 at University of South Florida in Tampa FL and was established in 1984.

The Centre Gallery primary objective is to provide USF community artists the opportunity to experiment with new ideas while gaining a complete educational gallery experience.

Regular gallery hours are Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Centre Gallery, offers the university and Tampa Bay area various stimulating visual art experiences by showing innovative, contemporary art work.

The Centre Gallery is currently hosting The Divine Connection Between Form and Nature by Jacqueline Amick. Jacqueline’s work is a classic form of art/printmaking intaglio printmaking that is not regularly found in contemporary society.

Jacqueline Amick is currently a senior at USF pursuing a Bachelors of Fine Arts with focus on Intaglio Printmaking. After graduation, she plans to continue to work and focus on her art for a year in preparation for applying to graduate school.

Intaglio printing is the opposite of relief printing, and is done from ink that is below the surface of the plate. The design is etched into the printing surface in this case copper plate. The printing ink is then rubbed into the grooves and wiped clean. Intaglio printing is actually a process of embossing the paper or canvas with considerable pressure.

The Centre Gallery is the only fully student-run, non-profit exhibition space in the state of Florida. Exhibitions run in two-week durations.
